About Midnight Costume Services
Laura Lejeune has been working professionally for over a decade specializing in Pattern Cutting, Historical Pattern Drafting for Men and Women, Corsetry and Male and Female Costume of all periods. Laura specializes in creating Costuming for Film, Theatre and Dance from Design to finished Production of all eras', as well as creating small 'runs' of Costumes for both Historical and Modern Stage, Film and TV.
With a background studying Fashion Design and Construction, Laura graduated in 2007 from Wimbledon School of Art with a BA (Hons) in Costume Design. Whilst studying she worked on various independent Films as a Costume Designer and Dresser, on numerous Theatre productions as a Designer, Interpreter and Dresser as well as freelancing for various Independent Designers and Productions creating Costumes, custom Corsetry and more.
Developing her love of Pattern Cutting at Wimbledon, Laura also expanded her knowledge and abilities to included drafting, grading re-sizing and sourcing Historical Patterns for all periods, a subject which continues to fascinate, as well as Dye Technology skills to include Screen Printing, breaking down Costumes and creating Dyes for a variety of uses and learnt Millinery, Historical Corsetry, Tutu and Dancewear creation.
Since graduating, she first pursued work in the Film Industry and worked alongside cult legends Brian and Wendy Froud with Chagstock Filmmaking on several Independent Feature Films, and with Oscar Winner Alan Lee for another, then finally moved to Bristol where she currently resides with her husband, Martin.
Having jumped all over the world from one costume job to the next, Laura finally realized her work was expanding and growing to include bigger projects and Midnight Costume Services needed a dedicated space. Laura opened the doors of the Midnight Costume Services workroom in 2014 and there she works creating Costumes for all sorts of productions for both Stage and Screen , in the heart of Bristol city centre, UK.
