10-3pm, Saturday 12th October

This short one day course is an excellent way to learn Tailoring techniques, or refine them, or indeed brush up!

This class is aimed as sewers who wish to elevate their skills to create more tailored garments and will cover hand and machine pad stitching (used for creating collars and lapels), the ranges of interfacing and their uses, how to make a welt pocket, inserting a sleeve head and basic hand stitches used in tailoring along with ironing and shaping techniques. Whilst these techniques are used in tailoring, all are useful for dressmakers wishing to elevate their sewing.

All materials will be provided in the cost of the course, as well as a workbook with instructions and places to keep your notes and samples for future reference.  Machines, tools and general sewing equipment are available too however; you are more than welcome to bring along your own machine.

Tea and cake at the half way point are provided as well, and it is a good chance to peruse the collection of books, patterns and small shop of lovely things.

All classes will be held in my lovely home studio in Downend, Bristol. Full details will be given once you are booked.
